Welcome to Skip Hire Docklands. By utilizing our skip hire services, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully to ensure a clear understanding of your obligations and our policies.
1. Definitions
For the purpose of these terms and conditions, the following definitions apply:
- Company: Refers to Skip Hire Docklands and its authorized agents.
- Customer: The individual or entity hiring a skip from the Company.
- Skip: A container provided by the Company for the disposal of waste.
- Hire Period: The duration for which the skip is rented.
2. Booking and Reservations
To reserve a skip, customers must provide accurate and complete information during the booking process. All reservations are subject to availability.
2.1 Confirmation
Upon successful booking, a confirmation email will be sent to the customer. This confirmation serves as a receipt and proof of reservation.
2.2 Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled delivery will incur no fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours of delivery may be subject to a cancellation fee.
3. Delivery and Collection
The Company will deliver the skip to the specified location within the agreed timeframe. Customers must ensure that the delivery site is accessible and complies with local regulations.
- Accessible Location: Ensure that the delivery location is accessible for our delivery vehicles.
- Permits: It is the customer's responsibility to obtain any necessary permits for skip placement.
3.1 Placement
Customers must place the skip on stable ground and ensure it does not block public pathways or violate local ordinances.
4. Use of Skip
The skip is intended solely for the disposal of non-hazardous waste materials. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:
- Flammable liquids and gases
- Toxic substances
- Electronics with hazardous components
- Asbestos-containing materials
- Medicines and pharmaceuticals
Disposing of prohibited items may result in additional charges or legal action.
4.1 Weight Limit
Each skip has a specified weight limit. Exceeding this limit may result in extra fees and potential safety hazards. Customers are responsible for ensuring that the waste does not exceed the designated weight.
5. Payment Terms
Payment for skip hire services must be made in full upon delivery unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Accepted payment methods include credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and cash.
5.1 Late Payments
Late payments may incur interest charges and could result in the suspension of services until the outstanding balance is settled.
6. Liability and Insurance
The Company is not liable for any damage caused by the skip once it has been delivered to the customer. Customers are responsible for the proper placement and use of the skip.
- Insurance: It is recommended that customers have appropriate insurance to cover any potential damage or accidents.
- Damages: Any damages to property resulting from the skip placement or removal will be the customer's responsibility.
6.1 Indemnification
Customers agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company from any claims, losses, or damages arising from their use of the skip hire services.
7. Duration and Extension
The standard hire period is specified at the time of booking. Customers must return the skip by the agreed date unless an extension is requested.
7.1 Extension of Hire Period
Extensions are subject to availability and may incur additional charges. Customers must notify the Company at least 24 hours before the original collection date to request an extension.
8. Termination of Service
The Company reserves the right to terminate services under the following circumstances:
- Non-payment or late payment of fees
- Misuse of the skip
- Violation of any terms and conditions outlined herein
- Engagement in illegal activities using the skip
8.1 Consequences of Termination
Upon termination, the Company may take immediate action to remove the skip and charge any outstanding fees or costs incurred due to improper use.
9. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Skip Hire Docklands operates.
10. Amendments
The Company reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of any significant changes, and continued use of services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Severability
If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
12. Entire Agreement
These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between the customer and the Company regarding the use of skip hire services and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
